Tsunami Relief Prayer Needs

Starting this Wednesday, the DTS students and some of the staff will be going up to Ishinomaki which is one of the hardest hit areas from the earthquake and tsunami back on March 11th. We will be doing a lot of manual labor like cleaning out houses and picking up debris. We will also be enjoying and being in the company of the Japanese people who lost so much in the disaster. If you could please partner with us as we go to serve and love on the people in the devastated area.

1) Unity among the group- submission to authority and practicing thankful and life bringing lifestyles and ways of speaking to one another
2) Safety/protection from the Lord- the area since the earthquake has had a lot of problems including: more earthquakes, tsunamis, radiation, hazardous waste/muck to clean up, and so much more
3) Open Doors - that the people of all the tsunami and earthquake devastated areas would be open in sharing their stories, and hearing the gospel/receiving prayer and Jesus
4) Staying Focused - primarily on Jesus, then on the people of Japan, and on what we are doing and not get distracted with the future, the rest of our DTS, or other distractions
5) God would continue to reveal more to us - that this time wouldn't be only a time of hard labor and helping the Japanese people, but also a time that He would reveal more of Himself to us, and that we would continue to grow with Him

Time Flies

--It is so hard to believe that my time here in Japan is almost over. We have only 2 more weeks of outreach left and only one more month left in Japan. So crazy. First off I want to thank you all for being so diligent and involved in my life here in Japan. Your prayers have been felt and appreciated so much. The land of Japan is slowly and steadily moving towards God and I am amazed and honored that I get to be a part of it. I have learned so much on this journey and still have so much to learn in these last few weeks. Thank you for all of your love and support, I cannot tell you how blessed I am and how thankful I am to God that He has put supporter like you all in my life.
--As many of you already know I feel that the Lord has called me to live and share the gospel throughout Japan. I feel that He is calling me to also bring others to Japan to continue ministering and sharing the good news with His children here. One of the biggest problems that I have faced while doing ministry here is that the language barrier is intense. Japanese is probably one of the most complicated languages I have ever come across and if I want to be able to do ministry effectively here in Japan I need to be able to speak the language.
--My best options to learn this complicated language are to either take classes at the local community college or to pick up a language learning software like Rosetta Stone. The cost for learning the language is going to be about $500 either way and the classes begin on Sept 6th, right when I get back in the states. In order to take these classes or pick up Rosetta Stone I will have to have the money by the time I get back home on the 25th of August. If you feel led to give by the Lord or if you would like to partner in helping my ministry further in Japan by picking up the language, I have put up a PayPal link on my blog site that you can instantly donate any amount.
--Thank you again for all of your support in so many different ways, you have all been a blessing and I pray that the Lord would bless your lives more for partnering with Him and His work here in Japan.

Tough Week but God is Good

So here are some of the events that occurred throughout my week of ministry in the Tokyo area
- Prayer walk through Shinjuku- taking back the land that belongs to the Lord and declaring in the area that it will be a place where the people love the Lord their God
- Evangelism in Yokohama (a shopping mall area, experienced a lot of rejection), Shibuya (near the station talked about in the video), Shinjuku (in the red light district area got to talk to and pray for a lot of african men who have to work at these bars to provide for their families, but don't really enjoy it, also prayed for and gave food to some homeless men, as well as passed out tracks and loved on the japanese people), Ebisu (where we held out signs for free prayer for anyone that wanted it and shared the love of Jesus with them as well)
- English Club ministry barbecue with some of our students, and the last english club meeting for my time here in Japan
